Celia Denore López originally from Spain started studying music at the Conservatorio Profesional de Música de Valencia before joining the Royal Northern College of Music where she is currently in her last year of studies with Stephen Savage.
Last year she was awarded the Fergal O’Mahony Prize at the college and this year she was a finalist for the second time consecutively in the Piano Duo Prize with her duo partner Jay Carroll. She enjoys ensemble work and has formed different chamber groups since studying at the RNCM. She performs a mix of classical and modern vocal
music regularly with her cabaret ensemble “Zephyr Collective” in venues around Manchester and London. She enjoys collaborating with composers and performing contemporary music. She has recently performed works by Errollyn Wallen in the RNCM ‘In Focus’ Festival and new works by RNCM students with the Brand New Orchestra.
She also likes to get involved in different musical outreach projects, such as the RNCM Children’s Opera project, with composer Kate Pearson, the Opera-tune Thoughts Dementia Project, with SoundUp Arts and most recently the So Many
Beauties festival for people with Dementia.
